  • Broken my toe!

I'm sure it is many times now. Kicked the feckin' corner of the table some months ago and my small toe ballooned, In fairness the pain and numbness was only for a week or so, but chasing the daughter the other day I kicked the bloody wall with the same toe, heard a crack and it has swollen again. It is a little painful to walk on as the pain had spread to the ball of the foot. I read somewhere there is nothing for it. Is it worth a visit to the doc or is it a waste of time?

Difficult to put my bike boot on.

There were a lot of broken bones involved.

Why on earth would you want to hit logs? Sounds like a continuous event!

Toes are pretty sensitive, but they generally heal fast. I have had them bruised up in the morning from putting a table leg and by night they black and blue is about gone. It still hurts like heck, but thankfully not for long.

I had my first big bike a Kawasaki mach 3, went like the clappers in those days, but not big on brakes, they would generally last 5 laps before they ran out, but this time they managed 3, in those days safety was not a big issue.

I decided to take up gymnastics at the age of 34, broke my little toe on the spring board doing a vault, which I enjoyed immensely and got pretty good at.

Hurt for 2 years, so much so I was considering hacking it off.

I banged up my little toe the other day. Didn't seem too bad at first. Crammed on my biking shoe and went for a ride. Took some ibuprofen and seemed OK. The next day it swelled up and really hurt like a mofo.
Today swelling even more and painful.
Taking more ibuprofen and packing it with ice. Bike riding is out of the question.
I'm jonesing, two days now without a bike ride, fock!

Nearly two months and the toe is better, not hurting anyway. Still can't use my cycling shoe. Cycle in sandals baby!

A few years ago I was cutting firewood with my trusty Stihl chainsaw with 25 inch bar. I had it at a vertical angle and somehow it kicked and it swiped across my boot. Took the boot off and my big toe was hanging by a few slivers of meat.

Went to the hospital and the operating theatres were booked until midnight so they treated me in casualty. A bit of a flushing with saline solution and a few stitches and Bobs your uncle. A couple of night in hospital and then back home. Got out of doing nightshift with that escapade.
