I have an American friend who's Thai wife suddenly died today. He is busy with all the arrangements, but then got worried and asked me what happens to his Thai wife marriage visa? He has a house, 2 cars and a motorcycle in Thailand. He does not qualify for a retirement visa in Thailand as he is only 47. What should he expect the status of his Thai wife married visa to revert to?

No kids together, however he is caring for two girls that his wife had with a previous Thai deadbeat dad. He has not been heard from in years. I do not think that will help him with futher visas because they are not his children, even though he has loved them like his own for years.
As of now, he is riding on the married visa and keeping a low profile. He is not sure what he will do when that one expires
