In an aim to promote the game of Petanque to the people of Pattaya, Pattaya City Hall together with the Petanque Khao Rai Club of Pattaya organised the weekend long international Thailand Petanque Championships at the Petanque Court on Soi 12 off Korpai in Central Pattaya.

Starting on Saturday, 7th March, a total of 10 countries took part in this popular French bowling game, including players from France, Japan, USA, Vietnam and Thailand.

There were two team categories one for men, the other for women. Winning teams will receive trophies and cash prizes.

I'd think Petanque could be a popular game here.
I was recently in France and observed a bit of petanque being played. They play every where.
Whats cool about it, is they aren't fussy, and accept whatever imperfections present themselves. Kind of a happy metaphor of life.

Used to call that marbles when I was a kid. Dobbers were the metal jobs.
