  • House registration

It is simply a House registration document in the form of a book which registers you as an occupant and inhabitant of the house at which the address is registered and is given to FARANGS instead of the Thai 'Blue Book' it is however not a proof of ownership of house but is also quite handy for the registering and purchasing of a vehicle.
Apparently when I inquired amongst my farang friends if they each had one, the general consensus amongst them was The Thai Officials don't deem it a necessary or important document to issue you with and at worst are loathe to give you one or at best do their utmost to dissuade you from applying for one.

How they think that I am A THREAT TO NATIONAL SECURITY by them issuing me with one is anybody's guess.

Such are the intrigues and inner workings of the moronic Thai napper which all of us constitute as THAINESS.

2-3 years ago I got mine also in an hour ,no hassles . I don't know if my wife being a good friend of the village head had anything to do with it or not , but she accompanied us to the office as witness to the fact that I did live at the address wearing the full official head of village attire and no problem,

So which was it, 2 years ago or 3 years ago ? You don't seem to be quite sure except that it took exactly 1 hour.
I can see where myself and others went wrong at our local Amphur.
We didn't take the village 'Phu Yai Ban' with us.
A Dutch friend of mine after traveling to the Dutch embassy to get some of his papers endorsed and stamped with the official embassy stamp was promptly told upon his return of a 7 hour round trip by a big obese female jobsworth that the The Official Stamp of his Embassy was too small and should be bigger and was refused issuance of the 'Yellow book'
These are the type of things that weigh heavily on the majority of the Thai Officials mind when dealing with ordinary and innocent farangs who are only trying to do their best by living in Thailand legally

Happy to report That a few days later he did get a Yellow book after a lot of petty hoop-jumping with more shenanigans and his Lawyer..

Hope you are counting yourself suitably very lucky under the circumstances.

Sillyfooker you seem to have a bit of an attitude problem by the tone of some of your replies to other posters , I have found that a negative attitude is no help at all in dealing with Thai officials , just saying like, maybe that is the reason you have been told "no can have".

I can honestly say I have had very few problems with the Thai service other than people not showing up on time to do jobs at home. Administration services have always been fine but my wife has always dealt with it.

Straight away by the tone of your reply you certainly have an attitude problem resorting to puerile name-calling in answer to my post.
Try reading the original post again.
Throughout this thread I have tried to convey the ineptitude and incompetence of my encounters with Thai Officialdom, not all but some, and like you I have always been polite and civil in my dealings with them. Everyone knows except the complete idiots that having a negative attitude towards any Thai Official will get you nowhere, but thanks for pointing that fact out again.
It's great that you didn't have a problem obtaining a 'Yellow Book' whereas me and others have met a lot of problems, but I would put that down to a particular Thai personality and district office.

Perhaps you could answer a question for me:-

If you are told by a Thai Official that the ''Yellow Book'' is unimportant and unnecessary then why do they have so much difficulty and a recalcitrant attitude in issuing one and where do they get the idea that you would be a threat to National Security if they did.

Please try to answer without resorting to more childish name-calling.......Thanks in advance.

Your wife has always dealt with it? Yes, that would make it far easier. Now imagine you don't have this assistance.
