The Thai government introduced a car insurance discount scheme in March, if you ask (and you need to ask), all car insurance companies must offer a discount of 5-10% if you have a dash cam installed.
They actually take it seriously, if they refuse you report them to a number and they get fined 300,000thb.
Just got my renewal quote from Direct Asia.
I have a deductable of nearly 50% anyway - so I only pay 50%-ish, and pay the rest if I make a claim.
No discount mentioned for the car cam.
Shot off an email asking what discount they offer, came back the same day of 5% off the total quote. Which as I'm only paying 50%-ish of the total, is more like 10% off what I'm actually paying.
Just gotta take a few photos of it installed, and then you get the new quote at the discounted price.
