The coronavirus strain, found among quarantined Thai returnees from abroad, is the mutated G strain, which has been spreading in the United States and Europe. It is not the S strain, which originally spread in Thailand, according to Dr. Yong Poovorawan of Chulalongkorn University, Thailand’s top virologist.

He said that, if there is a second wave of infections in Thailand, the G strain virus, or G614, will be dominant, because it is about ten times more contagious than the S strain, originally identified in Asia, but it does not appear to be more deadly.

Dr. Yong said that the CCSA has been cooperating closely, with the Institute for Prevention and Control of Urban Diseases, to study infections in state quarantine facilities, so that Thailand will be better prepared in case there is a second outbreak, most likely of the G strain.

I visited TC a few times as a guest but had to stop. It is a sickening place. - Aging One

You may have read the last couple days that dogs are being trained to sniff out covid-19 with the hope they will become an important tool in the fight against the disease

Scientists are also excited to learn that there is a human being capable of doing the same. Climate change pain-in-the-ass Greta Thunberg not only has the ability to 'see' carbon dioxide, as claimed by her mother, but her special powers also extend to getting down on all fours with the canines & tracking down Covid sufferers

Here Greta, now Sit! Good girl Greta!

Somewhat ironic but Covid19 has actually been a boon for our business and the I believe our owner is quietly happy with the way things have panned out financially

Businesses that can prove a downturn in business over last year can access a government employee wage subsidy that is rather handsome and runs for some time. Our company is on the subsidy however business has picked up after a slow start around the start of the outbreak at the beginning of the year. We are able to remain on the subsidy so the bosses wage bill (the biggest expense) will be insignificant for some time

Business lockdowns during the initial outbreak or now the 2nd wave don't affect us as we are classified as an essential business & have been able to trade as normal, & without having to work from home. Our international suppliers out of USA and China have generally only had small delays in supplying goods

So it's not all doom and gloom in the business world
