  • Bangkok to plant flower gardens in public parks

If you’re planning to stay in Bangkok for the New Year holidays, you can visit these flower gardens in four public parks across the city.

The Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA) has arranged flower gardens in the parks under its “Bangkok Flora Festival”, which lasts from January until July 2022.

Bangkok Governor, Aswin Kwanmuang said that the gardens are being be organised as a New Year gift for the people of the city and to encourage local tourism.

The flower festival will kick off in January, starting with the sunflower garden at Wachirabenjatas Park (better known as Suan Rod Fai) in Chatuchak district. This will be followed by a spider flower garden in March, at Wanapirom Romklao Park in Lad Krabang district. After that, visitors can enjoy the Mexican Aster blooms in May, at Pom Mahakan Park in Phra Nakhon district, and the purple verbenas in July, at Chatuchak Park.

The BMA say that over 160,000 plants have been propagated by officials of the Department of Environment. They have selected species that are appropriate for the weather conditions in each month.

All visitors will be urged to comply strictly with the anti-COVID-19 measures in place. https://www.thaipbsworld.com/bangkok...-public-parks/
