    Yet, serious crimes continue, and police last week quickly arrested a man accused of attempting to rape an Australian tourist on an island off Phuket's east coast earlier this month.

      I find it strange that I often hear farangs going on and on about how they feel safer in Thailand than where they are from at any hour day or not in any area. But the locals know better and are scared.
