What an absolute hellstorm of a voice.

    Pitch perfect raspiness always works.

And what an introduction from Brian Johnson coming from literally nowhere and taking over from Bon.

My older sister saw them in Dublin in 1991 touring off The Razor's Edge album when she was 16, I was taken up to Belfast to see the WWF wrestling on the same night.

Looking back now, she definitely got the better deal.

Great band but I don't like the lead vocals.

I think the rock sound of the 2000s crown goes to

            Kinda get what you mean.

He also, unfortunately, exudes no energy during life performances. Which is a bit of a let down as their studio work is so energetic and powerful.

God, the panic within the Dems, MSM, and left must be horrifying...realizing that Joe is really the best they've got.

Had a mate big into Silverchair in the late 90's, their music always seemed very simplistic, and didn't have the power of Nirvana or Pearl Jam.

They certainly grew up musically with their 4th album around 2002, the immense vocal range and absolute pitch perfect voice of Daniel Johns is hard to match.

Final 3 songs probably the best of a great show.

They won a national radio station's Battle of the Bands at 15 and got signed, 2 years later toured Europe with the likes of Foo Fighters, probably 23-ish while headlining this festival in their homeland.

Last week in Boston. DuVall lacks the magic.

This really takes me back. My older sister, like everyone else, was such a big fan around '89/90, and she had this on rotation at home when I was 8 or 9.

One of those gigs where the About to biggest band in the World play to a small club as they're blowing up.

Read in Slash's autobiography that they weren't even down to play, it was Whiteshark's gig, and when they had to cancel, the record company put GnR in instead.

Out to get me, at 9:00 is insanely good.

Saw Slash and his G'nR cover band in impact around 2011, great show but the Thai audience sucked.

Saw them live with Brian May and Soundgarden, 13 June 1992, Wembley. Awesome

Went to Maine Road Manchester on 9 June to see them and got turned away due to cancellation. Bunch of lads in a Vauxhall Cavalier not happy!

Must be the same tour my sister went to, in Slane Castle around the summer of '92. Didn't know that Soundgarden were the support. Remember that Sky, which was a big new thing around that time had a big broadcast of their Paris show.

Looking back at that '88 gig, it's easy to see how they blew up to be as big as they did.
