Does anyone actually like Pattaya?

Nobody (at least moi) is questioning your decision to live in Pattaya, sabang. I am merely citing the degradation of what was once was a charming sea side resort town to what it is today.

Regarding Ban Saray - when I was working out of Sattahip back in the day, I was the only Farang living in that once bucolic village. Shame what it's now turned into...

Yes, BangSaray is inevitably being consumed by the urban sprawl of Pattaya. It seems to attract the sort of Patspat that doesn't want to actually admit he lives in Pattaya. Still a good place to eat seafood by the sea though- Preecha is the best, if you find yourself down that way. Even a few fishing boats still to be seen, although they are maybe just there for show.

An admission, albeit not much of one. If you are looking for some halcyon vision of what you consider a traditional version of Olde Siam, it sure ain't Pattaya- unless you like Theme parks. The only traditionally Thai thing about Pattaya is prostitution.

Does it really matter where Farang settle?

          They're all no good, anyway.

From reading your posts sabang, are you still in Thailand?
              Residing in Pattaya?

Moved back to OZ with the developed and distorted bitterness, anger, and hatred that is usually attached.

                Rather typical.

I'm in Adelaide booners, been here since November 2018. I deffed out Los, last year- spent a month in the Fils instead. Don't want my money going to feed corrupt, power stealing Generals.
I still have the villa in Patts though, and will probably be over later this year, for business really. But it will be nice to catch up with a few folk.

                    That’s a good idea.

But wouldn’t it be next to impossible to escape the property taxes?

I leave such matters with the Ex, frankly. Thai bureaucracy is something I explicitly do not miss. Mind you, it's only got worse over here, sigh.

I wouldn’t have brought it up (taxes) had I known. I am so sorry to hear that news.
