I've always been curious to know what the actual farang population of the Pattaya conurbation might be. I wouldn't think it's that hard to get a tally of those on employment, marriage and retirement visas.
Harder would be the part timers- FIFO workers, and a fair few that split their time between Patts & their home country. Or just dodgy daves that seem to get by perpetually on visitor visas. I'm guessing it would be safely north of 50,000- which to put that in perspective, would make it Sth Australia's second largest town after Adelaide!
Even estimates of the local population of Pattaya are inaccurate. Most are from somewhere else- but have never bothered changing their registration from their original moo ban. Thus, come election time, there is this massive exodus back to the moo ban to vote.Last edited by sabang; 03-08-2020, 02:35 PM.

I forget. All day, 35 baht per seat? They say 100 baht in the article below.

I love the way they suck their own exhaust fumes into the back via the vacuum it creates. Like many things in Thailand, they're only fun if you leave your brain at the airport on arrivalLast edited by Nitcha; 03-17-2020, 09:25 AM.

Baht buses weren't 'fun' nor 'cheap' 20 years ago sabang - who are you kidding.
Too bad they didn't have the Pink Card available back then and us Farang could have paid the Thai price.God, the panic within the Dems, MSM, and left must be horrifying...realizing that Joe is really the best they've got.

I've only been to the dark side once. That's the only part of Pattaya that's remotely liveable, but it's still shit compared to the most liveable beach city in Thailand IMO, Songkhla, which has a bit of a Penang feel to it (unsurprisingly as they're only about 200 kilometres apart).Last edited by Nitcha; 03-17-2020, 02:25 PM.
