I had lunch there last week. The upstairs is open air like Starbucks next door to enjoy the sea breeze. I've never lived anywhere that's not either by the sea or an easy day trip from it. I never could and never will.

A few scenes that make Malacca so liveable. Who other than a monger would choose Pattaya for the same money?!? Especially when they can't buy a house.

You can drive the KL MRT

Skip to 23:30 for the awesome golf course I need to try out sometime.

Begins its descent underground at 30:30 for a few city centre stations.

Negatives I can think of.

Can be too hot in the afternoon if there's no cloud and wind, like everywhere in the tropics that isn't a highland
KL has no sea within view, and lacks the charm and walkability of Malacca but makes up for it with infrastructure
Choose the wrong area and you'll get woken by a mosque at 6:15am
Less litter than Thailand, but can be some
Visa exempt only 90 days, less than Hong Kong's 180 days. Easy to take a day trip by train to Singapore or Hat Yai for a new one though.
Trains aren't high speed like they are in Taiwan. They're good enough though.



Beer tax - not a killer by any means, but a large bottle is the equivalent of 95 baht in my local. Vietnam beer prices, which are less than half that, would be great.

From what I've seen so far it's actually difficult to not have a view of forested hills in KL.
