I spent three days in Sapa, Vietnam a few years ago. Sapa is located 1500 meters above sea level. The place was very memorable because it is nestled in the northern mountains of Vietnam and home to a number of hilltribes including the H'mong and the Dao tribes. I got to spend a day with both of these tribes to see how they live which made me feel like I stepped back into the 1900's before the industrial boom.
Arriving in downtown Sapa which is basically a road with a lot of guesthouses.
The view from my balcony of the guesthouse looking to the side.
Most of these guesthouses or hotels are facing this view which is usually shrouded in a sea of clouds in the morning.
I rented a motorcycle taxi and rode on the back of the bike through the mountains towards Fansipan. On the way the views were really something. Ran into some oxen along the road.
