i see bike hire ads on the Internet for pavement pounders. But fuk, I really don't kno
You do realise it's a small elongated island no wider than 1 km at its narrowest and 7 KM long and less than 11 square km in area right?
Even if you could rent a pavement pounder there's not much pavement to pound and I imagine what there is will be cluttered by bicycles and buffalo and every manner of wheeled conveyance meandering all over it.
    Has anyone been recently?

But ppl will make fun of me for actually enjoying this night without losing a few hundred dollars gambling. Yet if I waited an hour in line to get in here, paid a $20 cover charge to see this band and spent $10 per drink, I'd be "cool" maaan...
Who here would say you were "cool, man " for paying. $20 cover charge and $10 for drinks? Just the opposite I would have thought
I think you are confusing posters here for your crowd back home.

        • There're is no motorbike taxis around here. It's really starting to piss the fuk out of me. It's either the WW1 jeeps or the ****y taxi drivers. My gf lost it on a driver yesterday for over charging us. F u c k. Motorcycle taxis are fast and efficient. They can beat the traffic.

they really are something else. I thought nothing could outdo the Tuk Tuk as far as whacky Asian sh*t but these things take the cake.

i just read the wiki article on them. It says that old seppo military jeeps were custom made for transportation because all transportation in the country was destroyed after WW2. So it's implying that there was some sort of system before the war. I wonder what that was...

Luckily you aren't in a nanny state that dictates fares, safety etc... That would be just horrible

                  Ha !

As if the nanny state solves anything. For the most part, once you get the game figured out in the local area, you pay the market clearing price

                  • The pharmacies here fu ckin suck. They are either the corporate ones with too many employees around to hand out bribes. Or they are small dumps with nothing good in stock

Thailand has the perfect mom and pop shops that will sell anything. One old guy in Thailand handed me a blister pack of valium. I said I wanted more and he pulled out this bucket of a 1000 of them. I lol'd. It must have been 5 gallons

                          • My recent visit to the filipines showed me how much that country has gone backwards, or at least trod water, while Thailand went forward. I first visited los in '82, fils in '87. They were on the same level then. It was kind of sobering, and saddening to thing Thailand is hell bent on going backwards now. Burma was more advanced than Thailand after WW2, but that didn't last so long. At least when you shoot yourself in the foot, you only harm your own foot.

                            • Don't even have them anymore mate- they've been replaced by faceless pick-ups, at least around Cebu. Going back to the fils made me realise why I don't want to go back anywhere.
