Quite a damning review of Thailand from a couple of nerdy youngsters who thought that Malaysia was a better travel destination for everything apart from sights and bargain bucket prices.

I'm not so sure. This assumes that places like HK and Singapore are the best to work in and places like Thailand and the Philippines are the best to retire in?

Surely if you like a country and it's a nice place to live then it shouldn't be that relevant.

That's true if $$$ is the only consideration.

I've lived in Thailand, not working. And also Singapore and the Philippines.

For sure, my take-home pay was a shit load more while I was in SG, but its much more satisfying working here in PH.

Even though I'm doing the same job, and even contracted back to the same company that I was in SG, the work/life balance here is so much better. The Filipinos are much more friendly that the Singaporeans. There's way more public holidays here and much more socialising with the people that I work with.

                            I assume you're joking.

These days, with globalization & technology, people are living, working, retirement all over the globe.

Patriotism is your conviction that this country is superior to all others because you were born in it.
