Complaining about individual mods and whining about specific events, i.e. 'Why was my useless, off-topic oneliner deleted, fkn Nazi mods!' gets old fast on big forums.
Otherwise I disagree, it's reasonable to comment on the general running of the place. There used to be a subforum just for that on early TV, it's part of community building.
TV lost touch with its members a long time ago. The stealth-modding on TD isn't much better IMO.

It's worse. I don't believe they hide themselves like insideous Gestapo on TV. It's one of the reasons TD is a shadow of its former self and more than half of posts are made by a dozen members.

I dont even know whether the guy posting all the threads was even a moderator .
And even if he was , I didnt comment on any moderating that he was doing .
So you weren't giving advice that threads should be combined by the mods?

Being banned from shitholes is a badge of honour. I infiltrated an online pedo ring 14 years ago and got banned from it twice when they detected that I was there to study them and not contribute.

One particularly creepy member even taunted me that I was about to be banned for the second time when he figured out that I was a previously banned member.

BTW, that's the exact modding regime I'd expect of the owner who it appears is the pimp that owns smooci.

          • The stealth modding was set in place by DD from the start, though some of the cnvts were very obvious.

they own smooci and another very famous Thai website that has been there before ThaiVisa

I think they sold it, they wanted 1m THB, probably settled for 500K which is still a lot

                That was my suggestion .
The rules about not commenting on moderation are for when in the forums, if a mod deletes something or makes an official comment, people cannot reply to them , and even when posters DO reply to them, the post just gets deleted with a *Comment on moderation removed * .
Even so, I was not even commenting on moderation , I was suggesting to the person who kept posting 100s of threads about the USA elections, that he could post it all in one thread

                • A PM might have been a better idea then....

                  • You have been given a 5 day suspension for flaming another member on the open forum. In the thread about the American woman, you posted this:

You are just a stupid person who believes what you want to believe without understanding facts about any given situation

You may not call another member 'a stupid person,' it is a flame and it contravenes the following rule:

                    7) You will respect fellow members and post in a civil manner. No personal attacks, hateful or insulting towards other members, (flaming) Stalking of members on either the forum or via PM will not be allowed.

                      • I got a 5 day suspension for stating that a stupid person was indeed a stupid person .
That was the truth and a fact

                        • I’m with the TV mod on this one. Trash the post not the poster. Surely you could have demonstrated that only a stupid person would have made that post without actually calling them stupid.

of course on this forum we have other rules.

It's a reasonable rule to stop threads descending into shit-fests if you don't want a shitfest forum.

For example, back in the day if I started a TD thread entitled "Why are so many TEFLers in Thailand alcoholics?" or something like that, which is a perfectly reasonable and evidence-based opinion to hold, I'd receive a string of hatred-filled personal attacks and insults from the usual suspects who were probably not teflers but were alcoholics and determined to bully away any discussion about alcoholism in Thailand expats.

                            • ^So the alcoholics would be upset if you implied they were TEFlrs. Nice one.

                              • No, I think it's more like even though they weren't teflers, any thread which reminded them of their alcoholism needed to be crushed and buried. It's one example of many.
