  • Abarth 124 Spider - the ultimate driver's machine?

I'm thinking about what car to keep in the UK for when I'm there. 2012 Boxsters are now getting cheap, but this is seriously tempting.

    A good review.

Foregone conclusion, right? The second-hand Porsche Boxster will wipe the floor with the upstart Abarth?

dsc_1044.jpgPorsche 981 Boxster like this very car, it would make you smile too, and generally feel a glow of Zen-like happiness that, through your daily endeavours, the ups and the downs of life, it was there on your own driveway, every morning, come rain or shine. Yours. A proper Porsche.

That burst of feel-good adrenaline is such a big part of why we all go through the financial pain, sacrifice, arguments and everything else in the quest for the best performance car we can possibly afford. It has to make you smile. That the very same smile contorts into a grimace when a four-pot 718 BoxsterAbarthFiatMazda986124MX-5 at heart, and its swollen-in-places panelwork gives the impression, however absurd, that underneath the Italianate cladding lies a bemused Mazda, ready to emerge blinking into the sunlight.

Er no, a 981 flat 6 model, not a flat 4 which appeared from 2016.

Your advice is pointless when it comes to boxsters as there aren't any classics unless you count first gen models as being classic which I don't, and anything new or nearly new doesn't have a proper porsche engine.

Smeggly crapping on about cars again aye. If I had a car for every thread he has started on buying a car I would have a very large garage.

Of course in between his threads he angrily rants at others over any posts / threads they make about cars. Because ranting nutter.

Oh look, 7:30am on a Monday morning has rolled around again and factory-trapped piss-stain's personality disorder is itching to turn another topical thread into a shitfest

If you're not interested in a car thread I suggest you get started with posting this week's 100 Trump-sneering memes across two forums.....

This is the dream, and a good choice for someone who only spends summers in the UK, but it's completely impractical as a main vehicle, and I don't want to keep two cars.
