  • Any one else feeling their age ?

I’m 72 and it sucks every thing I do seems more difficult like getting up walking and I’m starting to feel more tired . I’m just beginning to forget more and more things . Couldn't remember my uncles name for the life of me and I talk to him on the phone once a month . Now it feels like I have to sleep between 10 to 12 hours a day or I can’t seem to function . My current health situation is good and some times I feel like I’m 21 then I look in the mirror and wonder what in god’s name as happened. I wish really wish I could find a getting old antidote but the little voice in my head keeps telling me that Mr Alzheimer could soon be knocking at my door.

The human body begins dying soon after reaching adulthood. That's why nearly all professional athletes are aged 16-36. Thankfully the body dying is a slow process, but someone in their 70s is in the latter stages of that process and it's only a matter of time before a part of their body suffers a fatal fault.

Perhaps scientists will invent a way of keeping us all alive forever, but it'd become a very strange world.

The current pandemic isn't helping. Hanging round the house when I should be out and about.

I recommend a large glass of red wine once a day. It'll lift your spirits and give the false impression of robust health.
I visited TC a few times as a guest but had to stop. It is a sickening place. - Aging One

I was once chatting to a friend on line who is older than my self ( 74 ) and when I happened to mentioned my getting stressed out about being 72 and what lies ahead . He went into a long ramble basically saying that I should like him consider the possibility that there is life after death and its known as reincarnation. My dad had similar views but on a more strange preconception. Personally I’m a great believer that once you have been turned into ashes that's it for ever .

Its funny you mention Red wine as Ive been reading some articles on how to prolong your life span and in most of those online articles and advice some sort of diet is mentioned and
Red wine was often talked about . I do love Red wine but is so expensive here.

Surely one glass a day won't break the bank.

Can't remember how I felt 20 years ago, struggle to remember my birthday, but don't feel my age, samesame as ever. But a bit different.
Dont get sick of me just yet, for I will be here for quite a while

Took the piss out of my sister earlier for claiming she's in her mid 40s. She's 47 and will be 48 in a few months. IMO early 40s are the first three years of 40-42, mid 40s are the middle four years of 43-46, and late 40s are the final three years of 47-49. Anyone disagree?

Women are dead touchy about this stuff

Where in the scheme of things would you consider my age 72 ?

                      Twilight of your life

The last years of someone's life: Old people often rely on pets for comfort and companionship in their twilight years.

Well that's gone and cheered me up no end , now where that kitchen chair and a length of strong rope .

Older than I feel or look. My age doesn't bother me.
Last week I asked my wife, who are you and what do you want in my house - she got upset. But I am sure this person is not the charming looker I met all these years ago.

A lot of dementia is vascular.....just lack of blood flow. The heart gets weaker with age.
I am 65 but just a few months ago got on a bicycle again, and now the fatigue I was feeling prevviously has simply disappeared. Cycling is much better than running. Push your body ....slowly.

Ive never really been an exercise sort of person but I keep seeing comments about how you can feel better after doing some form of exercising . When you are out and about on your bicycle any problems with Soi dogs as you pedal along . And have you ever thought about purchasing a home motorized treadmill.
