  • NO more cheap crap

After several bad experiences with buying cheap poorly made electrical stuff , I said to my self enough is enough , no more buying cheap Chinese crap.

This house phone packed up several weeks after buying it from Big C , so being a tinkerer I took it to bits , the surprise was the piece of ceramic tile that added weight to the phone , what more can I say , NO MORE CHEAP CRAP .

Yes I concur wholeheartedly, now I check all big-brand names for their slightest or remotest connection to China and give them a quick body-swerve and refuse point blank to buy.

Ive come to the painful and wallet emptying conclusion , buy well known brand names , pay as much as you can afford for a better quality item, don't say to your self , bugger thats cheap it should be ok . I did once think that buying cheap so long as you realized the product may not last too long , and you thought of it as a throw away item in the end, would be the way to go .

Its not , ive lost count of the number of cheap mobile phones and made in formosa gadgets that have ended up being thrown out , the repeated sound of a one month old Chinese mobile phone dropping into the rubbish bin , became a bit like Chinese water torture .

It is ballasted to help keep the base stable. It is a concept not unlike the concrete blocks in washing machines. The plastic clamp is properly made to fit the ballast.

            Not necessarily "cheap".

☐ Buying cheap chinese made crap ☐

Ive finally made my mind up , after years here of scouring the shops for discounted or bargain priced cheap items , all ways preferring to purchase the lower end chinese made goods . Enough is now enough , so Ive instructed my dear wife that if she is with me when I go out shopping , if she see's me reaching for yet another low priced piece of crap , be it a tool for my tool box , a power extension lead or 800 Baht home theater system made from plastic and fiber board , she has to in a loud voice remind me by saying the word's '' No Dan No Dan cheap '' before I whip out my wallet .

The excitement of picking up and paying for a cheap bargain and thinking to my self , Dan you did well there well mate , you save your self a bob or two, can be addictive and irresistible. Sitting in the car on the way home with a smile on my face thinking how well I had done , the new cheap purchase on the passenger seat . Fast forward a few weeks and the well done Dan smile has turned to a why the F*** did I buy that crap frown as the newly purchased item either stops working or has fallen to bits .

Am I the only sucker that seems attracted to buying cheap chinese made crap , do you on a regular basis buy these types of poorly made items , or do you shun the lower end quality stuff and head straight for the '' I don't mind paying for quality '' top shelf goods.

You have to ascertain if the call is answered by the unit or it knows your phone number and rejects the call but still switches on the outlet otherwise it will cost you 5 baht every time. SMS control is OK as it is cheaper but is there an app. which remembers the text you need to send. My phone does not allow texts to be forwarded or stored for use later.
Every time it sends you an SMS to confirm switch status it will cost? 3 baht or whatever. You'll need to keep a reasonable amount on the SIM baht on the SIM because to top up you'll have to remove SIM and put in a phone so you can top up. I don't use PAYG phones so maybe you can top up from any phone without transferring the SIM?

Unless you have a real need, you'd tire of it soon enough. I have customers who ask to have the SMS alert suspended as every time they turn on or off manually the unit still sends them a 3B text.
