No doubt Mick was too close to the shark for comfort , however I suspect what happened was the shark got caught up in his leg rope and was simply trying to get away .

Still it was way too close for comfort. I would've shipping myself then had a heart attack.
Great whites are some scary critters, right up there with grizzly bears.

No dear, I posted a link to a story written by The Guardian newspaper which is read by hundreds of thousands of people, on a forum with 8 active members. "Shark attack" was their way of describing the events, which I then reposted.

I have killed zero sharks in my life so I have contributed precisely fu*k all in regards to their demise.

Having said that, if ever I come face to face with a shark when I'm spear fishing, I'll be doing everything within my power to get the little fu*ker on my dinner table. But even then having killed one, I will still have had precisely fu*k all to do with them being "systematically killed off".

Don't worry. I'm not expecting you to understand that.

If I hadn't reposted that story with THEIR headline and their spin on it, then Mid wouldn't have posted the Zach Beauchamp response, and this thread wouldn't exist as it currently does, which is as an informative and alternative view point to the one the Guardian reporter originally put forward.

If somebody who thinks sharks are blood thirsty man killers reads this thread, he may now go away with a totally different understanding than he had before. Totally positive thread that came about as a result of me reposting that article.
