Before I moved to Thailand I lived on Saipan where I had lots and lots of friends. Since moving to Thailand ten years ago I've not made friends. I find that to be very difficult. But I'm learning to cope with the isolation.

^ Haven't seen you on the boards for a while Buadhai.
Similarly, I've lived overseas for a long time, and indeed originally left home when I was 15 to join the naval college, 1000 km away. Not hard at all. Actually, I rarely go back- they come here.
I lead a fairly remote existence these days too. Only one other farang left around the area (oh, and a missionary family, but well...), and my wife is away more than she's here, taking care of her business. Can't say it's really a bother, although it would nice to have a few more white faces locally. There is always Ubon, or the local market town, if I want to catch up with some western company.
