Yes the place had charm. I loved the massages in Ubonvej next door to U bar, at amazing prices. I'd prefer there to Pattaya.

Sleeping deeply despite the security guards that would have been shouting at each other. Loud cars and motorbikes that would have been racing by, etc etc.

Ubon is a dozy backwater. I had to take someone to Ratchavej Hospital A&E department in the middle of the night, and the two nurses manning it were asleep on their desks. They called a doctor but we left after half an hour of waiting for him/her.

Small correction- you get big C in Roi Et, you'd probably go to Khon Khaen for treatment. Closer, and bigger.

Are you blaming me for your inability to post on topic (or ignore my threads) without sneering at me?

^ true smeg- although ask yourself how that came about.
^^ You might be surprised booner. Ubon is a centre of education, medicine, gov't administration & military for south/ eastern Isaan. You get cancer in Roi Et, or Surin- you go to Ubon for treatment. There are quite a lot of educated people there. That may help explain it's electoral diversity.

Educated Thais don't like noise any more than educated westerners do.

You are the master my friend - absolutely brilliant !!!

It's been quite a lengthy crusade. Almost hitting 2 decades at this stage.
But let's not give up hope on him. We can help to improve his life.

To them there's nothing untoward about it at all.
See, it's your inability to perceive how the 'offenders' perceive their actions that is causing you so much angst.
Journey inward.
Open your mind and grow.
Be a better Exexpat.
I believe that you can do it.
