The new place I'm renting seems to be plagued with stray dogs . Once I go to bed its not long before the howling starts and when I look out of the bedroom window the soi seems to be awash with packs of roaming scrawny looking dogs .
Its early days and I'm not sure how to fight this menace , my wife seems to be able to sleep through any noise and just tells me I will get use to it . I did read some where that the Thai's won't try and stop these nuisance soi dogs , as they believe the dog is howling and trying to communicate with the spirit world.
The way I currently feel I would be happy to dispatch all this howling animals off to their own spirit world toot sweet .ↂ if there was a clock in my under pants, it would be at high noon ↂ

They get too numerous in my area, the boys here round some up and haul them to the local Wat where the Monks can either feed them or...?God, the panic within the Dems, MSM, and left must be horrifying...realizing that Joe is really the best they've got.

One doesn't hear about the below problem often in Thailand. Is that because Thais are too lazy / scared to walk anywhere?

If a pack of them gets too aggressive with me on my bike runs, I simply stop and stink-eye the Alpha dog and it's all over.God, the panic within the Dems, MSM, and left must be horrifying...realizing that Joe is really the best they've got.

It's not the best footware but usually I ride wearing flipflops on shorter runs. Tennis shoes and socks on longer rides.God, the panic within the Dems, MSM, and left must be horrifying...realizing that Joe is really the best they've got.

No such thing as karma or the tooth fairy, but there are over 4 million soi dogs according to govt estimates. Thais will do little about them, usually just cart them off to dump elsewhere. The reasons are two fold, they see killing as a 'sin' and a book that came out several years ago.
People can only take the problem by the horns and poison the ones causing a problem in their location. Mrs was savaged by one last year, it had already bitten 4 others in the previous two weeks including kids. The Thai sentimentality towards doggies does not stop them from suffering greatly, do them and your community a favour.
