Although my first choice was the Park Hyatt Sydney (closer to the Sydney Harbor Bridge https://www.hyatt.com/en-US/hotel/au...t-sydney/sydphhttps://www.shangri-la.com/en/cairns/shangrila/). It was a nice place and at the center of all the attractions. We booked our room there because it abuts the marina where we would be catching the liveaboard for 3 nights.

Not going to mention the liveaboard we stayed on for 3 nights. It was nice and offered numerous dives each day. There are a variety of liveaboards to choose from in Cairns.

We spent our last night in Australia at the Rydges Sydney Airport (https://www.rydges.com/accommodation...ydney-airport/) before leaving for Thailand. Nice place and within walking distance to the airport terminal.

Damn Covid.

We were planning a trip to Perth this month (September 2021) to go whale watching but will have and save it for 2022 when we’ll do Perth (September), Hawaii (December) and Mexico (December/January 2023) whale watching trips. We’ll add diving in Mexico also.

The only trip scheduled outside of Thailand will be a month (spring 2022) in New York that I’ll post about.

Whatshername reminded me this morning that six years ago today we were in Peru visiting Machu Picchu.

We also climbed Huayna Picchu. The picture below is looking at Machu Picchu from Huayna Picchu. The scarf you see the women wearing is whatshername’s scarf.

While in Peru we chartered a plane that took us over a lot of the Nasca lines

We spent about three weeks in Peru and during our last week we took an amazon river cruise for about 7 nights.
