I share a love of trains with DJ Pat... about eight years ago, I took this amazing train ride up from Cairns to Kuranda up a hill basically through a rainforest.. then I took a cable car over the rainforest and down the hill where I could see the Great Barrier Reef... it was magical.

Bang Pa In - Korat Motorway (Hwy #6) at Hwy 2068 overpass just north of Kham Talay Soh.
I love it that no one cares if you intrude on these construction sites. Such a nice smooth ride on that fresh concrete. Plus, the workers are always happy to answer questions and see that someone is actually interested in their project.

^^Excellent, and nice bike!
^Haha, how did you manage that? Those buggers are hard to catch. How's your son by the way?
I took this a few years ago in Hua Hin. I walked by it everyday and it was so beautiful, especially this one time when the sun was setting.

Typhoon Yutu
This photo shows the house I built in Saipan (in 1980) after typhoon Yutu pretty much destroyed the island last week.
Before the typhoon that house (where my daughter and grandsons still live) was surrounded by all sorts of trees including avocado, mango, betel nut, etc. All that's left are a few stripped coconut trees and a few scraggly ironwood (Casuarina).
The house stood up fairly well. All of the aluminum roof cladding is gone as is one of the sheets of plywood that made up the roofing. Almost all of the porches blew away. The drywall ceilings exploded into the house due to the dampness and extreme differences in air pressure. A lot of cleanup and some reconstruction will be needed to make the place livable.
Right now the island is without power or water. Many hundreds of homes and other structures were totally destroyed. It will take months and maybe years to recover.
BTW, my daughter is a Fire/EMS (911) dispatcher. She worked all night when the typhoon blew through. She said it was the most stressful night ever.

Fall is in full effect in Canada, although we had a big snowstorm last night and the leaves are pretty much off the trees now. This was taken a few weeks ago. By the way, I found my password.

I have been looking at some of the other threads in this forum and found this one. I went looking at some of the pictures I have from one of my visits to Thailand and found the, boy in the water, picture. For the life of me, I cannot remember seeing this one of the series I took of the kids playing.
The other one of my grandaughter, was taken in the United States and I have always liked it. She likes music and has been dancing since she could walk. She walked up near the stage and started dancing to their music.I used to chase radios. Now I don't.

^Great pics, Radio. The one of the little girl is priceless. It looks like she was enjoying herself.
Went to the yearly ice carving festival last weekend. Ice carvers come from all over the world to compete for the best ice sculpture.
These ice carvers are from Japan.

This sculpture is from carvers from France. The sculpture is called the dancing Eiffel Tower.
