Money is a big factor I'd imagine. I have a few good guy friends (US) who I met in Thailand who now live back in the U.S with their Thai wives and have a number of children. I see them on fb quite often and still talk to them even though they are married. lol.

Typically, women from the sticks are looking for the financial security of their existing family and will quite happily move from one guy to the next if money runs out. Often, they will have a man in backup supply via online media if their existing partner smells something fishy.

A reasonably well-educated/working woman tends to look for a farang as they treat women better and offer what I consider a real relationship.
