  • When To Use Reaproy & Set Laew

OK all you Thai language gurus - after all these years moi is still confused in which context to use เริผขรือผ Reaproy and เสร็จแล้ว set laew to indicate a particular task is completed.

As far as I can tell, they are almost interchangeable but...I know there's a context in which to use one or another given the circumstances?

    Cheers,

I believe that เรียบร้อย (riap roy) refers to finishing a particular task whereas set laew is more general. Hope that helps.

I think riap roi is best used when something has finished being done and puts the emphasis on it being correct and complete, for example cutting your hair or paying a bill.

I think set laew is better used in the context of stopping doing something but with no emphasis on whether it was done correctly.

            Thanks guys!

My 'hand' uses riap roi to tell me he's completed a task & I've been asking him in return set laew mai krap?
And he invariably answers riap roi krap.
