Lame losers who give up who they are to try to fit into Thai culture
Before we got married myself and her met up with her old teaching colleagues and also invited was an American bloke who had lots of lessons at the School and with the Mrs. He would not speak to me in English but tried all the time to talk to me in Thai, knowing my Thai was not good enough. I had to laugh last year when he got 22 years for kiddie fiddling in Thailand, FBI arrested him when his plane landed in Hawaii . His Thai lessons were a waste of money, good chance he will die in prison
Always found anger and a loud voice to work well when a Thai is obviously trying to cheat you. They don't want other Thais to realize what they are up to.
Words to the wise (sarc)
God, the panic within the Dems, MSM, and left must be horrifying...realizing that Joe is really the best they've got.
As a non speaker of the Thai language I think I will always be an outsider. It is easy why you see and feel resentment People who see you flaunting your wealth and living a life style few of them can afford. Then the attitude of the sex or full moon tourists. I always wonder if I am seen as a old farht looking for little boy fun when I arrive at the border. I was even told off for not speaking Thai at the border.
I reckon that I am very lucky to have the chance to know another country so different than the ones I have already lived in. My Mrs tells me that she only wants to live in Thailand if her mother gets sick. So I am happy to be a visitor, at the moment. No need to try to be something I am not. So each year Thailand becomes home for a couple of months and I am happy to be The Canadian.

Likewise. That's the only reason I spent a few years working there, as it was more interesting than doing so in Sydney or Paris.
I've been spending a couple of months there per year since leaving a decade ago. Enough's enough though. My mrs and me no longer like anything about the place, so we'll be sticking to Singapore (her favourite place) Taiwan and Malaysia (my favourite places) when in Asia.
Gone are the carefree easier days when all of Thailand wasn't connected to the internet or Facebook
More refreshing a month or so at a time, Spent 2 months & a month so far, last year 7 months total
Getting interested in couple of other places, Gf wants out of Thailand.
