  • Gardening - New Turf, fertilizer and some other sh*t

Having recently had an extension built and some gardening for the back and front garden, the rear (small) has never taken. From day one of owning the house, we've had problem sections of the garden sinking after moderate to heavy rain. Despite my concerns, the gardener was positive after he laid the new turf (on sand), two new trees and bushes along the back wall with shrubs, the sinking would be a thing of the past. Well, despite me saying otherwise and questioning the sand, more holes appeared after 3 weeks. Eventually, the management from San Siri got involved, plugged the walls, stuffed some clay down the holes - some over 4ft deep and assured the problem had been fixed. I told him I'll give it 3 weeks. After 3 weeks the same holes reappeared and despite my saying the sand is the issue as its being washed away and creating these sinkholes, he made the same repair again. After 4 attempts eventually what was a nice looking place was baron looking as the sand washing away also ripped grass roots out and whatnot.

So, as I've done with every job we've paid for from having curtains installed, outdoor blinds gardening and auto repairs which have never been done right, I did the job myself. I repaired the garden during the heavy rains to see if I could fix the problem. After filling the holes with rubble, digging most of the sand up and laying a shit0load of soil and re-turfing, not one hole has reappeared.

So after the crap above, my questions are:

    1. Is there a safe lawn feed I can use to keep it healthy.
    2. I've watered every day for 2 weeks and now I do every other or leave to the rain, is that enough as I am concerned of overwatering?
    3. The lawn is now just over 3 weeks old and the length is 6-8inch. Can I now cut the lawn?

After numerous repair, grass nearly dead.

New turf. Just one or two brown patches. Wil the healthy grass spread, or should I cut out and lay a new piece?

    Thanks for any input.

Not sure why photos or upside down.

No idea, but I do like a gardening thread.

If it was me, I would probably take the photos and a translator (yer missus) to a garden center to get their advice.
