Registered sex offender arrested for trying to lure women in California

HESPERIA, California -- A registered sex offender was arrested in California on suspicion of trying to lure women, including a minor, to his home under false pretenses.

Around 1:17 p.m. Thursday, San Bernardino County sheriff's deputies from Hesperia contacted Arturo Martinez at his home located in the 7600 block of Corona Avenue.

Deputies arrived at his home after receiving numerous complaints from women, including a 17-year-old girl, who said he tried to lure her to his home.

Authorities said Martinez would solicit women through social media and website services using a fake name and disguised his voice by making it sound like a woman's. He also solicited women through babysitting, cleaning, taxi, real estate and delivery services, authorities said.

Martinez is said to have contacted women in Adelanto, Apple Valley, Hesperia, Phelan and Victorville with the intent to lure them into his home to commit a sexual act.

Deputies served a search warrant and arrested him at his home, where evidence was recovered.

Martinez was arrested on suspicion of contact with a minor with the intent to commit a sexual act. He was booked at the High Desert Detention Center in lieu of $500,000 bail.

Authorities said he is a registered sex offender with a prior conviction of indecent exposure.

Detectives believe there may be more victims and urge anyone with more information to come forward. You may contact the Hesperia station at (760) 947-1500 or the WeTip Hotline at (800) 78-CRIME."

As for that registered sex offender you have to wonder at how the cogs and wheels turn in a brain like that.

But you can see why I thought this thread was needed. Next time someone wants to imply that the Thais are beyond civilizing then just refer them here and the true picture is obvious.

Re the sex offender - he's an Ork so their brains work differently than ours!

Re Thais- it does get old the constant bashing seen on these forums. Makes you wonder why these people (farang) are still hanging around.
Good example is the crap on NTD where Thai-abuse is OTT.

Texas drug suspects called cops after somebody stole their weed, police say

Reed Henry, left, and Jeremy Galladora (Harris County Precinct 4 Constable's Office)

Who do you call when someone steals the marijuana you're trying to sell?

According to authorities in Texas, a pair of teenage would-be drug dealers opted to call the police.

Investigators say 18-year-old Reed Henry and 17-year-old Jeremy Galladora contacted the Harris County Precinct 4 Constable's Office to report a robbery. When deputies arrived, the pair said they had met up with a group of men to sell an item they had listed online, only to have the men assault them and make off with the item.

However, after an investigation, deputies realized Henry and Galladora were actually trying to sell pot.

Constable Mark Herman told Click 2 Houston that Henry was arrested and booked into the Harris County Jail on a charge of making a false report to a peace officer. His bond was set at $500.

Galladora was charged with the same offense and a warrant was issued for his arrest.

Budding (no pun intended) drug dealers?

Terrifying moment cowardly thug squirted 'acid' in faces of clubbers then fled yelling homophobic insults, as he and his gang are jailed for a total of nearly 60 years.

Shocking footage shows the moment a thug sprays clubbers with a 'noxious substance' in a mass brawl outside a nightclub.
Huseyin Onel, 24, squirted the liquid at the faces of revellers after they tried to stop an attack on man outside the venue in Hackney, east London.
The man, who police have not been able to trace, had been punched and kicked after he approached a group of men who were sitting in cars in Alvington Crescent at 5am on May 5.
Another group leaving the nightclub then tried to stop the attack, but when one of them began filming the scene on his phone, the men turned on him.

As the fight escalated, Onel got a bottle from one of the cars, and then started spraying the noxious liquid in the faces of victims, the Metrpolitan Police said.
The suspects then got into three cars and drove from the scene, shouting homophobic insults at members of the group, and that they 'run Hackney'.
The man who filmed the assault was left with a fractured eye socket and corrosive burns to his eye, the force said, adding that he had made a 'miraculous' recovery.
Seven men were yesterday jailed for a total of nearly 60 years, with Onel sentenced for 17 years for applying a noxious substance causing grievous bodily harm, and three years on extended licence.
He was given nine years each for six counts of casting a noxious substance and three years for violent disorder to run concurrently.

Tekagac, 30, of Homerton, in east London was sentenced to 14-and-a-half years in prison for applying a noxious substance causing GBH, and an additional three years on extended licence.
He was sentenced to eight years for robbery and three years for violent disorder, to run concurrently.

Ardic, 27, of Hackney was jailed for 14 years for applying a noxious substance causing GBH, plus three years on extended licence. He was also sentenced to three years for violent disorder, to run concurrently.

Guven Ulas, 20, of Barnsbury, North London, was sentenced to 30 months for violent disorder.
Mustafa Kiziltan, 30, of no fixed abode, but from the Hackney area, was jailed for three years for violent disorder and nine months for dangerous driving. He was also sentenced to three months, to run concurrently, for failing to stop.
Serkan Kiziltan, 22, of Hackney, was sentenced to 18 months for violent disorder.

Umit Kaygisiz, 21, of Hackney was sentenced to a total of 28 months in prison for violent disorder and attempting to convey a prohibited item into prison, namely a mobile phone.
Yasam Erdogan, 24 of Edmonton and Turgut Adakan, 23, of Hackney were handed 18-month sentences, suspended for two years, for violent disorder.

Turgut Adakan, 23, of Hackney were handed 18-month sentences, suspended for two years, for violent disorder

The men were sentenced at Wood Green Crown Court yesterday.
Det Con David Leitner led the investigation. He said: 'Nine violent and dangerous men have been removed from London's streets today and will now spend a lengthy time locked up in prison.
'The level of violence used in this attack, coupled with the speed that this incident escalated, are truly shocking.

'The original victim who was attacked by the group has never been traced but I hope he, and all those who were set upon by this violent group of individuals, will take some comfort from the fact that this group has been convicted.'

                        • CCTV shows man standing next to cenotaph in St Peter's Square, Manchester
                        • A man and two women confronted him by the memorial on Wednesday night
                        • Police said man, 58, was arrested on suspicion of outraging public decency

A 'drunk' man who tried to urinate on a cenotaph in a city centre was stopped when passers-by confronted him about what he was doing.
Images taken from CCTV cameras show the man standing against the war memorial in St Peter's Square, Manchester, before three people quickly intervened.
Greater Manchester Police said a 58-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of outraging public decency following the incident at 10.50pm on Wednesday.

A GMP spokesman said: 'Police were called at 10.50pm on Wednesday, January 16, to a report of a man acting drunk and disorderly in St Peter's Square, Manchester city centre.

'Officers attended and a 58-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of outraging public decency. Enquiries are ongoing.'

A man and two women can be seen in the CCTV images confronting the man, who appears to be wearing a long coat, before he steps away from the monument.
The women throw their arms into the air and appear to be upset as they point at the man.
On February 7, 2016, another man was captured urinating on the same cenotaph on CCTV.

Caedmon Kerr, 24, was handed 200 hours of unpaid work by a judge following the shocking incident.
Two years ago, a man was also banned from the city centre after poppy wreaths on the cenotaph were kicked and damaged.
Simon Colley, 40, was seen taking a run-up to the war memorial and kicked a wreath away on February 23, 2017.

                              • Officials said they were just 10 feet away from digging out an 82ft deep orifice
                              • Rescuers got a powerful machine and hope drilling will take around 15 hours
                              • One of the most powerful in Spain, it was taken off a job on a Madrid motorway
                              • Julen plunged as his dad prepared lunchtime paella near their house in Malaga

This is the the first picture of a two-year-old Spanish boy who has been trapped in a 250ft well for nearly a week.
Rescue teams trying to reach the boy trapped inside a well in Spain are expected to start drilling a new vertical tunnel today.
Officials announced late last night that they were just 10 feet away from digging out an 82ft deep chunk in the hillside and creating a platform from which powerful drills will start the job of creating the new vertical tunnel running parallel to the one Julen Rosello has spent nearly a week in.
Rescuers hope the drilling will take around 15 hours - although the race against time to reach the youngster as soon as possible means proper surveys have not been carried out and rock underground could cause further delays.

One of the drilling machines, described as the most powerful in Spain, was taken off a job on a motorway near Madrid so it could be used in the rescue operation.
Stage three of the operation will involve mine rescue experts flown in from northern Spain earlier this week digging out a 13-foot-long horizontal tunnel by hand from the point the drills reach to the 10-inch-wide borehole Julen is in.
The miners are expected to start their dig around 250ft down the new tunnel, the same depth as a blockage of sand, earth and rocks Julen is thought to be trapped in or under.

A special capsule capable of supporting the weight of two people and oxygen equipment has been created so Julen can be brought out alive if he survives what is set to be at least seven days underground.
Police and private sector experts involved in the extraordinary operation say they are still clinging to the hope the youngster is surviving in an air pocket with water and they can pull off what would undoubtedly be one of the most spectacular rescues of all time.
Thousands of well-wishers from around the world have also lent their support by posting pictures of their hands on social media alongside the hashtag: 'MimanoaJulen' which in English translates literally as 'MyHandtoJulen' and messages of encouragement.

Julen's devastated parents Jose Rosello and Vicky Garcia, 29, are now staying at a house lent to them by a Good Samaritan after being asked to leave the hillside where they spent most of the past five days for their own safety.
The property is near the town of Totalan and close to the scene of the ongoing operation a half-hour drive north east of the Costa del Sol capital of Malaga where the couple are from.
The massive rescue operation swung into motion last Sunday afternoon after Julen plunged down a tiny 350ft borehole as his dad prepared a lunchtime paella on family-owned land.

The hole was made by a prospector at the request of Jose's cousin's boyfriend to search for water.
The prospector has told police he complied with the law by sealing the hole after it was made but Julen's family say it had simply been covered with stones that weren't properly laid.
Recalling the moment he realised Julen had disappeared down the borehole as he prepared lunch with friends and relatives including a cousin, Jose told a Spanish TV programme earlier this week: 'I was putting some more wood on for the fire and ran towards him.

'My cousin was a bit nearer and threw herself on the ground as I reached the orifice.
'He had already gone. I heard him cry at first but then I didn't hear him cry anymore.' In an interview with Malaga-based paper Sur he added: 'My wife went to phone into work to let them know she wasn't going.
'She was with Julen and asked me to keep an eye on him as she made the call. He was only a few feet away.
'I went to get a couple of logs for the fire for the paella and he began to run.
'We saw how he fell down the hole, my cousin more than me because she was closer.' Julen's brother Oliver died aged three two years ago after suffering a heart attack thought to be linked to a congenital heart defect.
The boys' gran Reme Garcia has been asking Oliver to protect his little brother from Heaven in heart-wrenching messages posted on social media.
Angel Garcia, the engineer leading the search and rescue teams who is updating journalists on progress every day from the scene, told reporters yesterday/on Friday: 'Right now it's as if Julen was the child of us all.
'If your child was there you'd do everything you could to look for him, wouldn't you!! Well, we're doing everything we can too.'
