  • My overseas travels with a single Thai female

Traveling with a single Thai female overseas can be at times difficult. Some Thai women find it challenging to obtain a Tourist Visa to some countries. With that, planning and scheduling a trip can be problematic.

    Japan and then some.

Our upcoming trip to Japan has been pretty much finalized. We have coordinated our accommodations, transportation and sites to visit within 8 different cities with a Japanese woman we have known for years and who will be accompanying us throughout this two week trip.

Why only two weeks? A Thai National is able to visit Japan without applying for a Visa if the visit is going to be less than 15 days.

Support: Notice for travelers who use visa exemption for Thai nationals - Visa Exemption for Thai Nationals Effective from 1st July 2013 - The length of stay with this visa exemption measure is not more than 15 days. Travelers who plan to stay in Japan more than 15 days need to apply for a visa before travel to Japan.: https://www.th.emb-japan.go.jp/itpr_en/visaindex.html

      Just a tease.

I will post about the Japan trip (getting in and out of the country) and how easy it was to visit with my Thai spouse this coming week. Until then: https://enntourism.com/spots/matabei-cherry-tree/

While in Nara, Japan we had a chance to visit the Matabei Cherry Tree (full bloom) which is estimated to be 300 years old.

And you ask about one? What is wrong with you?

It got interesting during the trip when our wonderful Japanese guide tried as best she could to convince the girlfriend to join her in the spa at one of the resorts we were staying at (https://www.hyatt.com/en-US/spas/Spa...Hakone/gallery). The guide told her, yes she should remove all that she was wearing and join her in the warm water (hot spring pool). In the end the girlfriend told our guide that she was happy with her warm tub.

This thread will continue for years and yes you might see a picture of the Thai girlfriend as I have often posted her in my travel threads across the street.

You might even get a picture of my brilliant and beautiful daughter who travels with us on occasions. I have also posted pictures of her on another forum shortly after receiving (ceremony) her doctorate degree (DNP).

Below are some sites we were able visit after leaving Tokyo.

Our first destination was Kanazawa where it was still a bit cool for most of the cherry blossom trees. We did see a couple trees blooming at the Kenrokuen Garden (https://i.ibb.co/n6JMMqN/Kenrokuen-Garden-2.jpg) but the Kotoji Stone Lantern was more interesting. We spent our afternoon with three geishas where we were able to learn some history and ask them all kinds of questions.

                      Kotoji Stone Lantern

Next destination Hiroshima and the Miyajima Itsukushima Shrine. Itsukushima is a nice island to visit during Cherry blossom season (https://i.ibb.co/k4z7FH0/Miyajima-It...-Shrine-35.jpg).

                      Hiroshima and Miyajima

Miyajima Itsukushima Shrine (Torii in the background)

Next Himeji and Osaka. Osaka has a nice market and at one time was almost considered dead until this one market (https://i.ibb.co/3C68Thb/Osaka-Market-5.jpg) started serving fresh meals then some followed suit and the place took off again.

                      Himeji Castle

                      Osaka Castle

Kyoto where the Bamboo forest is located.

Cherry blossom trees at the temple next to the Bamboo forest.

                      Philosopher's Walk

Nara was the last place besides Tokyo that we took pictures of Cherry Blossom Trees that were worth posting about (https://i.ibb.co/L0t9pM7/Kasuga-Tais...-lantern-7.jpg).

                      Kasuga Shrine

Before heading back to Tokyo we stopped at Hakone. Yes, there were cherry blossoms trees but not worth posting about. During the last couple days in Tokyo we visited the New Fish market (not worth visiting) and the old fish market (which was kinda rebuilt after the fire a few years ago). We also had a chance to get some pictures of the Cherry Blossoms starting to fall in the area.

                      An update.

After almost several weeks back home I was finally able to schedule all my upcoming meetings and appointments and I found some time during the week (not weekends) where we would be able to leave the states for a bit and visit the Bahamas.

First stop was to visit the waterfalls with the amateurs who took the trip with a motorized boat.

Most in our boat had been swimming by this point.

Getting late and stopped to camp out for the evening.

Next morning heading down river for lunch and then to the top of the canyon

                          • How to. From the little I know and have come to understand after 15 years of being with Thai woman who has been given two ten year US tourist visas in the past. Looking at the application form as I understand can be intimidating. I'm going to be direct and try to keep it simple.

One of my overseas travels with a Thai g/f was to Foz Iguazu, Brazil.

                              Very romantic!

Then we crossed the long bridge to Cidade de Este, Paraguay to get our Brazilian visas renewed.
