  • What exercise did you do today? Log your workouts, keep accountable

I joined a new gym near me a few days ago. It is a real man's man gym..(note *I am a female.* lol).
It is an amazing gym with many weights and machines. Many athletes train there for body building and Ironman and such. I like weights.... a lot. The more muscle you have the more you burn calories even at rest.

Today (Saturday) I did biceps (bicep curls, seated curl with straight bar), triceps (bench dips, tri pushdown on cable machine, overhead press), shoulders (military press, front and side raises) I also did 20 minutes on the stair climber.. this is a real workout by the way. I am getting back into after being away from the gym for three months. I have been biking outside a lot, but not been in the gym.

This will tighten the buttocks and legs.

By the way my goal is to workout four to five days a week for now.

Thanks, I'd rather not say my weight, but I want to lose about 20 kilos, and I am 5 inches 4 feet. I've done it before, but have gained it back over the last 6 months or so. I'm back at it again! lol. My gym is making me a program to follow soon. I know my way around the weight room very well. It is just a matter of consistency for me both diet and workout.

20kg is a massive amount of weight to lose.

          As in, absolutely massive.

If 5'4 and hoping to lose 20 Kg, it would take a year of absolute misery, and then comes maintaining it.

Probably better setting realistic benchmarks. Do it healthily and do it right. Set 3 months 5Kg first. Done through a calorie deficient healthy diet and manageable daily exercise. Not some fad diet.

          Good luck.

^It isn't that massive..lol. I carry my weight well as I've been told. lol.

Anyway, it doesn't hinder me as in I still do whatever I want, still attractive enough to date guys, etc.. it is just that I know what it is ilke to be lighter and more fit and I want to get to that point again. I agree that take it in small chunks is the way to go, like mini goals (10 pound increments).

Fok the gym. Athlean X is the way to go. Hit a point in the gym where nothing was happening. Started at just over 100kg, now 84, lean and toned within a year. 20-30 min workout Mon to Fri. Sat and Sun break. Cured my rotor cuff syndrome, back and knee pain. Back to full on tennis in between.

                    That's very good.

You must eat a hell of a lot of food.

If you want to lose 20 kg, you're gonna have to be massively calorie deficient.

                      ---

Did an hour of yoga and 1.5 hours in the gym.
Legs, back and chest with weights and machines.
20 mins on stairclimber, 15 mins on treadmill. I also bike to my gym, ten mins each way.

Everyday I feel stronger and better!

Actually the saying goes "Eat to Live, not live to eat".

Survival skills involve fasting of some sort..

If stuck on a raft in the ocean or somewhere with no food/water how would you survive?

If you drink your pee you can survive easily for many days/weeks with no water/food.

In short, our modern western consumer culture is telling us a pack of lies....
