  • Two Months in Thailand

    Hello
I am planning on taking two months and staying in Thailand next July/August. Any recommendations on cities/islands to stay on? I was thinking that it would be nice to be by the beach, so Phuket popped in my mind as I have been there plenty of times. I was also thinking of Bangkok and then I could just do some trips down to the beach. Is it possible to rent a place for just a few months? I rented a place for a month in BKK before about 12 years ago, but it wasn't easy to find. Any recommendations appreciated. I realize it would be rainy season at that time as well.

    Two months?

You should e able to snag a rich dude with your 'charms" and scuttle off to one of the Andaman Islands where...
God, the panic within the Dems, MSM, and left must be horrifying...realizing that Joe is really the best they've got.

I visited TC a few times as a guest but had to stop. It is a sickening place. - Aging One

July/August is low season in Phuket. Plenty of deals and nice old style hotels in old Phuket town to hang.

If ya want a stay in real 'Thai' town atmosphere. Try Ranong, with lovely hot springs, mountains and access to Koh Chang island for long walks in beach/nature. Most hotels will give ya deals for month long stays. If hot springs is your thing Jansom Hotsprings hotel. in Ranong is a cool place to stay. (I lived there for months at a time) .
Ranong is easy with two flights a day on NOK-air.

Thanks for the advice folks! I am going to be making plans over the next six months, so any ideas welcomed. ^I'll check into that place, Earl. Ta

Yes, that is a good idea, I have already been to Phuket enough to know that it is overrun with tourists and Chinese. I think I will try seeing new places I haven't been. I have friends who live in Hua Hin where I spent a month a few years ago. I think I'll spend a month there doing Muay Thai and travel around there (Petchaburi I want to see) and south of HH. Right now I'm in the thinking stage, but keep the ideas coming.

I may spend a bit of time in Bangkok, but not a huge amount of time. I'd rather be in nature and by the beach.

Koh Chang is maybe the last unspoiled island relatively easy to access in Thailand.

Most accommodations close up during low season. Hornbill Bungaloes is usually open all year...

I've been to Koh Chang, it was really nice. I am thinking of spending some time on Koh Phangan as I have have read amazing things about the island. I would hope not to be there during a full moon or half moon party, but If I am I'd plan it so that I'm on the northern part of the island. I see they have many yoga retreats that I may get into.

I like Chumphon, which is south of Hua Hin. Stayed at a cheap hotel near White Beach.

Who knows, if you're lucky you might bump into Withnalstoke. Just keep your eyes open for a man with a traffic cone inserted up his clacker.

^Thanks sweety! I have taken the boat to Koh Samui from there I believe. I didn't realize they had a nice beach. Good suggestion! I'll check into it. I'd like to visit a number of places I haven't been, and I've been to quite a few places..haha. I also met quite a few expats over the years, a few nice ones from Ajarn. Had a few parties in Bangkok too!
Now, I've been excluded from TD, so doubt i'll meet any of them.

Yea I like Chumphon alot too. They have a great bicycling community. The bike ride between Chumphon and Prachuap Kiri is the best. Absolutely spectacular!

^Coolio! Are there bike paths? A few years ago when I did a month at a fitness camp, yoga, muay thai etc.. they also offered many bicycle trips nearby with Velo Thailand (Hua Hin). I vowed to do a few of them next time I was in Hua Hin. The one to Cha-Am from Hua Hin I heard is a good one.

Bicycle touring is really easy in Thailand. No need for tours unless you wanna be in a group. Which is cool too.

^Yeah, but I don't know my way around that well. The bike ride you were talking about from Chumphon to Prachuap Kiri, did you do that on the side roads or main roads? I personally like riding on bike paths or quieter side roads.. I'm a bit hesitant on biking on highways or busy roads with the traffic.

Haha, what a joker you are. I'm done with men, I just do my own thing and don't try too hard anymore.
