    • Felt like feeding on super-fresh fish, so went to the res by the reservoir.

      • How do you find the fresh water fish? I just can't get my head around it and always find the fish rather bland, what accompaniments do you suggest to spice it up?

Fish from the sea or ocean, salt infused is my preferred choice

The only good-tasting fresh water fish here in LOS (to me) is Pla Duke (Catfish)

The rest tastes bland but heaping some Naam Prick w/generous bits of garlic, spice it up some.

Same with shrimp re bland taste if fresh water raised.
God, the panic within the Dems, MSM, and left must be horrifying...realizing that Joe is really the best they've got.

          • Yes, PlaDuk just plain grilled with some sticky rice and dipping sauce, Pla Chon is tasty in curries. PlaTaptim is a delicious, subtle flavour, best grilled in salt crust IMHO. PlaKrang is favoured for its firmer consistency and the fatty bits. PlaHisop & PlaBuek do well in sour soup, PlaSavai a staple choice, for me preferable a thick, fried slice with veges & rice or fried potatoes.

There's a picknic area up the road from the eatery, very popular at weekends.

                    • In N. America, the lakes along the Canadian border teem with the best tasting fresh water (IMO) fish out there:

                      Walleye Pike.

                            • I don't mind a bit of banter, but I don't think my travel thread is the right place for extended personal grievences which originate off forum.
There are plenty of threads in the "ChatterBox", or "Members only" once you have the required number of posts.
