In your case, it was hardly rocket-science with the vast amount of detailed clues you provided.
How is the court case, I hope you'll be alright.
Yet you need an address to deliver a summons to.....I never provided anything remotely close to that.
The trial starts at the end of Sept. I should be ok and whatever happens it should provide moments of hilarity.

What is this court case about?
A photoshopped picture of a person was put on the old forum. The person took offence and decided to sue. This person is one that has impersonated a lawyer in order for monetary gain. He's also on trial for extortion, fraud and defamation. Drummond copied the photos from the old forum I think, used them on his site and is now being sued for defamation as well if I'm not mistaken.
As I look around the Thai forums that I have been a user of, the people who are the blatant trolls and agro merchants are usually not actually resident in the country itself - what they are doing on it I have no idea, but this ultimately brings into the fold utter whack jobs. They might have a very tenuous link with the country, like having been on holiday there one 12 years ago, or married a mail order bride, but aside from that, nothing.
I don't actually know how to get around this though as if you filtered by IP locations for membership, then you would block all those moving to the country or thinking about it, that can benefit so much by a solid information forum. Maybe two branches of membership - 1 for people residing in the country who have access all areas, and another for non residents who can access the help and advice sections such as Visa, living in, construction etc but not areas such as general chat, news, and that type of place.
The best one I was a member of was in a country I used to live in, but dedicated to a smallish demographic living in a single area. Most of the contributors lived in this small area, we knew each other at least by sight, and then other members from all over the world simply did not have access to the Pub Chat section.
Oh and TD is dead in the water. Another new mod appointed (Jaz) and this person is a serious hack merchant using his moderation buttons instead of a sense of humour, opinion, or anything that makes him personally feel threatened in his little world.

I'm not sure if I find this just a bit sad . . . Yes, I do actually.

I am not sure I would agree with that and could provide many examples of posters living in Thailand who are blatant trolls and aggro merchants . . .
It's a matter of attitude, not altitude I'll get my coat
Call me crazy, but I prefer everybody be allowed to express their opinion. It's when some are shut off, shouted down, and exiled that the rot sets in and any semblance of discussion or debate is replaced with hackneyed, tired rhetoric and old jokes.

I believe most reasonably thinking folk would be in agreement with this statement.
Not kills a forum faster than a dominance of extreme and narrow redundancy.
Drives decent folk away.
