Does using a lawyer to do the paperwork for my wife's tourist visa increase her chances of approval?

Should I pay a lawyer to do my wife's tourist visa or do it ourselves?

Just in making sure the paperwork is filled out correctly. An attorney can't go with her for the interview. To be honest the last time my wife went for a visa interview at the US Embassy in Bangkok, I was not able to accompany her for the interview either.

Your GF was held at SFO Immigration as in locked up?
Or her interview was held there?
She was held up at SFO Immigration and interviewed. They frequently pull arrivals from foreign countries and re-interview them to make sure their information is accurate and they can answer all their questions. She was delayed over an hour. This is why I mentioned to be prepared that she may get pulled into a screening room. According to my GF, they had her application up on the screen and asked her questions to see if it was all in order. Immigration is getting tighter. In the end you have to prove she has a reason to return to Thailand.
With that said I have heard a way to assist with a Visa is to be married at the US consulate. This way the marriage is recognized in the US. A Thai marriage does not really fly. I have no direct proof of that but have heard from quite a few.
