So, why would you say that it's bullshit? Surely you must know that 100k isn't a huge sum for many . . . salaried employees perhaps, but even then a good expat package tops that easily.
I was in Singapore for over five years, HK and Tokyo before that and now KL.

I do miss the SG tax rates! (You can always ask M)

It is a lot compared to no job at all. There is 48 million seppos on food stamps. That's almost the population of the UK. The world is in an inflationary depression. And you just have to look at the percentages to see that not very many people are making that these days

              Sounds good money that.
I'm in a similar quandary, whether to retire or carry on working

I fail to see what that has to do with anything social. I may as well give you the comparison that not one single Qatari is poor - on the contrary, each and every one of them is wealthy . . . very wealthy - ergo sum = 100% of the world's population is wealthy

What I am saying is that 120k a year is a lot for a throw-away type job. Sure there is lots of people making over 100 in jobs that theyv'e been at for a long time and have built up seniority. That doesn't compare to this.

Show me a job where you would be making 120k as you walk in the door. With limited or no experience...

In today's world. $100,000 is not much dosh at all. Even $1 million a year does not afford one living as well as it did 20 years ago.
