After 28 years, sails for the Phuket King's Cup remain full. Racers are once again preparing for one of the region's most prestigious regattas. Photo: Guy Nowell
My only regret about moving to Issarn is the lack of opportunity to sail, I went down to Pattaya to sail for a couple of days racing but because I was he only competent sailor on the boat (by my own assessment) I was helming the boat all day, despite sun cream and covering up my puny white skinny body, I got roasted to a brilliant red every day
I learnt that Thailand is not a sail friendly country, although Phuket does have more opportunity, but as my wife says its not MY country (area).
So now I have to be content to fly overseas and charter a yacht when the bug bites.
