I have followed with interest, a number of building threads, almost always farang sponsored to their own specs. Nothing wrong with that of course, sieze the opportunity etc.
Recently noticed several new buids in rural Surat being built to a common spec, a plan advertised on local hoardings, by what I presume is an architectural practice?
The houses look pretty good and fairly upmarket. They seem to use a common layout and basic design for floorspace and rooms, giving the buyer a choice of fixtures and fittings in kitchen and bathroom areas, and colour schemes of course.
It is reminiscent of western estate housing but built here individually, i guess because of the space available and the agri environment.
Individual one off builds continue to dominate but seem to take ages to complete. The new pre-planned housing gets finished very quickly indeed.
