  • (F)utility or versatility?

My household utilities over 8 years
    (June 2007- today)

    A few observations:

UBC/True hasn't increased their monthly fee since installed 8 years ago. (green)
The electric bill was cheaper than sat TV several times. (purple)
2011 seemed to be a cheap year despite the addition of a baby. Must have been a cool summer.
The trend-line total started at B3,835 in 2007 and ended at B4,139 today -- an increase of 7.34 percent over 8 years. (black)
These utilities only once exceeded 6,000/month.
Ten baht a month for garbage collection is laughable -- more so when considering money made by recycling, I make money on my rubbish.
Yes, I'm extremely obsessive-compulsive for keeping these kinds of records. Is it useful? I think so.

We pay 20B here. They come by everyday.

I can't see why UBC/True could justify an increase in their monthly fees to watch repeat after repeat of their programs day after day, week after week, month after month, In fact a lot of the programs I watched on True vision Gold have been moved to True vision Platinum channels and what is advertised as showing isn't what is actually shown.
Even by today's prices my electric and water bills still come in under 1,000 baht each per month.
Our recycling efforts are also rewarded and applauded by the Mrs because it is she who collects
      the rewards.
Internet connection comes in at under 600 baht pm.
      Hey! but I'm not complaining.

I'm not really happy with True, but it's the only game in town -- we have no cable TV available. I watch very little TV anyway, my kid likes cartoons and wife likes some shows. It's not worth 1,600 a month, but it doesn't break the bank and it's never been increased.

I also use a cellphone for internet connection -- B400/month.

A less than 1 percent annual increase in utilities over eight year stretch is incredible.
When I lived in Los Angeles, my electric bill alone was nearly 6,000 baht.
