I would like to either buy an already built RVor convert a bus into a motorhome so I can tour Thailand like I would in ' Merica. Has any thought about doing this or know anyone that has?

There is now a Thai company that rents out well equipped motorhomes build on a Toyota Vigo chassis. They use the 3 litre version and the video clip on you tube makes them look pretty comfortable with even a small wc and shower cubicle. Will provide the video link tomorrow if I can remember where aI kept it.

There are some secondhand ones for sale but not often.
What size do you want ?
If you are thinking along the lines of a Winnebago then you might be looking a long time.
Although having said that I did see two coaches for sale that had been converted by a TV company.

        Have you considered a caravan?
They have pros and cons against an RV but are readily available.

          For sale in Chonburi.
          German import twin wheel caravan.
I think it is 5.9 metres.
          459,000 baht.

Just imagine how many 5 star hotels you could stay in and for how long. Not the best of investments especially as finding safe parking away from gas stations could be a problem.

                  Yep, agreed.
There is only a handful of sites in Thailand available with power hook up.
Plus when you stay in a 5 star hotel you don't have to empty your own toilet.

Converting a coach to a motor home is a bit of a non starter if you want to be legal.
You either drive it without a driving license for that category of vehicle or get it re-registered as a motor home which involves getting plans approved by the DLT before conversion.

I can imagine the acrobatics and thick wallet necessary to register it ... and then every police checkpoint will find something which doesn't meet their incredibly high standard of highway safety and lawfulness.

A large, conspicuous rolling target for continuous shakedown. No thanks. Those BiB imbeciles will smile with unadulterated glee when you roll down the window and they see a farang face.

the 2nd best thing about Thailand is that the incompetent cops are easily out run or deceived by putting the hammer down and getting out of dodge.
it rates just behind, the outstand quality of available, members of the female gender.

I used to have a bike trailer and even with 2 bikes up, cops were easily evaded, maybe the missing reg plate made the whole rig much lighter.

                        Has he changed his mind?

I never have a problem with the copper Tex. I have never paid a fine. They salute me and I keep driving.
