Yes that was quite an achievement. Team USA's eureka moment in 2013 came with their ability to foil upwind which Team NZ had no answer too. They also had some luck, Team NZ were leading one race convincingly before light winds forced the race cancellation

However in this Americas cup the new AC50 boats can foil upwind and down. Foiling gybes & tacks are the norm. The kiwis foils and wings are estimated to generate 7-10% more speed around the course than the American boat

And remember this time around the boats are the same, the wings are the same. The only difference are the foils and systems which take months to develop and master. Team USA have 5 days to make improvements

Mr Americas Cup Dennis Conner who resides in California, winner of 4 Americas Cup, predicts a Team NZ win. I guess if each team win a race each per day then that conclusion is not hard to reach as NZ are already 3 points up

Interesting to note in the Louis Vuitton Cup NZ lost both of its races to Team USA ,yet now in the Americas Cup its the other way around, NZ have won all 4 races against USA. Were the kiwis letting them win for a false sense of "yeah we've got this Americas Cup easy"? Unlikely but you never know. After all there was 1 point at stake for the winner of the Louis Vuitton Cup to take into the Americas Cup, which USA won
