It is a huge complex but pretty beat up the last time I was there.
Haven't seen/heard anything on the Thai newscasts (channel 3) here...

Just gave it a quick read but got bored half way through.

From that it seems that the Centara group have won the bid to lease the building for 20 years with plans to use it as a hotel.

The winning bid was 1150 million baht .

It's not a good location for a hotel. Impact isn't that far away but there are several new hotels much nearer to it already.
