Ask any Thai about their involvement in Vietnam and you will get a blank look, most don't even know when the war started and ended, never mind about Thais fighting in it.

Didn't work. Nor did the full back and chest tattoos of tigers. In combat when your time is up, it's up.
Whenever you find yourself on the side of the majority, it is time to pause and reflect.

What works, is what makes them jump over the edge. It's war- where's truth?

Want to try that again in plain English por favor?
God, the panic within the Dems, MSM, and left must be horrifying...realizing that Joe is really the best they've got.

'Over the edge'- perhaps a bit WW1ish. What works is what puts fire in soldiers bellies- I see absolutely no regard coming from our Politicians & media regarding the truth in wartime (WMD's anyone?). Just demonise the enemy using any lies and propaganda.

As the old saying goes, 'The first casualty of war is Truth'.

So, in other words, you didn't 'buy in' to the Domino Theory

Not especially booner, no more really than I believed Saddam presented a 'clear and present threat' to the west. Overhyped and propagandised, like everything is in ideological conflicts.

                  Apples/Oranges

That's sad then sabang because, as you well know, w/out a strong Monarchy supported by the USA & OZ at the time, LOS would have gone the way of Cambodia, Laos & even Burma.

So they take pride in having lost.

                    Bit strange for Thais.

Seems they succeeded in preventing Thailand becoming communist, and got lots of $ out of doing so.

In case you hadn't noticed, LoS has gone the way of Burma. Bit ironic.

                          Yup.

Way better than, say, how communist Vietnam turned out.

^ No, far from it- VN is going great guns, basically it is eating Thailand's lunch.

Since the beginning of the political B/S, Thailand's GDP growth rate has halved, and FDI has fallen off a cliff. Meanwhile, VN is booming- both in GDP (over double Thailand's growth rate) and in FDI- which, a decade ago, was a fraction of Thailands.
