Sounds like its Goose is Cooked! Websites are a risky venture. Is it smart phone friendly? If it isn't then they are not going to pick up any new younger expats. If the numbers keep dropping then advertisers will pull the plug, simple as that

I knew the Malaysian owner of Thailand website, Bangkoktonight.com & its associated pussy forum. He had it up for sale about 5 years ago. No takers! The peak of its forum would have been long before that, around 2005 - the right time to sell - but bad moderating and the decline of the forum format over the years has left it a dead duck

TVF puts out a newsletter twice per day with local goings-on and they used to include a couple of click-bait Trump threads. No longer. I wonder why?

Those seem to have slacked off now with none today other than a thread generated about Michael Flynn getting grilled by Muller which I was the only respondent. Called it a witch hunt again but as you say, interest has diminished. The half dozen conservative posters I am familiar with no longer post there and the rabid lefties seem to have retreated to their mom's basement and gone fairly mute.

Thai Visa has threatened and thrown off conservatives who who contribute to the political threads. They are told they will be banned completely via PM if they don't stop posting.
The World News Forum is totally censored and Fake News as the partisan mods manipulate it behind the scenes. Hopefully, Karma is real and there will be special place in hell for biased mods like Scott and Moderator 01 someday.

Seems you missed the last few decades of technological development, oldtimer, they cannot ban a person from a forum, only a username or an IP address.

It's normal practice that members contribute for free, including moderating on most forums - legitimate for a barely self-financing forum, but with a strictly commercial venture like TV, it's taking advantage of members' goodwill.

TD was also heading in that direction during its brief growth period a few years ago, with notices that pictures & other contributions become TD copyright. I don't think it was ever commercially viable, though.

Thaivisa is slowly killing itself. The quality and variety of posts has quite clearly fallen over the last 12 to 18 months. And now they have brought out a 30 second adblocker software detector page that appears every time a user with an adblocker opens a new page on the site. So it took me two minutes to get from the Thaivisa home page to here! And all because I have the sense to have adblocking software on my computer system! I am very close to leaving the forum forever! I'm sure that won't bother most people but I've been a member since 2005. If the page closed after only 5 seconds I wouldn't mind but 30 seconds is taking the pi##. So long suckers....

The TV ads are so intrusive it slows your PC down and that is why so many use Adblockers. So they respond by reducing ads intrusiveness? No - they force Users to stop their Adblockers! Another nail ...............
