                    • I fink...

socialism is a form of statism... statism includes fascism.

i.e.: where the public is regarded like termites to serve the state as a kind of organism.

lot of these words have had their meanings mangled.

communism is much more like a religion, and the only true communist state is the vatican city.

most so-called socialist or communist states are various forms of statism: oligarchies (technocratic one-party states with plutocratic features) and autocracies (totalitarian military/ideological dictatorships).
These states start of with people peddling collectivism and economic redistribution, but rapidly descend into authoritarianism which is where the fascism comes in. anyone who spends time in China must notice that.

although fascism can trace it's roots back to 18th century France, Giovanni Gentile had a hand in the definition of Fascism, where (ghost writing for Mussolini) he tried to define Fascism in terms of it being the inverse of Socialism:
                      "
Fascism is therefore opposed to Socialism to which unity within the State (which amalgamates classes into a single economic and ethical reality) is unknown, and which sees in history nothing but the class struggle. Fascism is likewise opposed to trade unionism as a class weapon, but when brought within the orbit of the State, Fascism recognises the real needs which gave rise to socialism and trade-unionism, giving them due weight in the guild or corporative system in which divergent interests are coordinated and harmonised in the unity of the State. (p.15)
                      "
                      https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Doctrine_of_Fascism

This is of course not borne out by experience. Pick any nominally "socialist" state in the world, and tell me it isn't Fascist! They are all overtly nationalistic, state-worshipping, and have leadership cults, and forbid dissent from the state. Some people might focus on Socialism as an economic antithesis to Capitalism, but really they're talking about Collectivism and Redistribution. You see much more signs of this in high-tax Scandinavian countries than most other places.
Why was the National Socialist German Worker's Party Socialist? Because they used the term themselves. They didn't go along with Gentile's definition of Fascism.

"ascists advocate a mixed economy, with the principal goal of achieving autarky (national economic self-sufficiency) through protectionist and interventionist economic policies.[12]"
                      https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fascism
This is exactly like the JuChe ideology of North Korea; and of policies in Cuba (and arguably Iran too).

German "fascism" (it's an Italian word-concept really), has its roots in Britain from Locke, reborn after WW1 as Volksgemeinschaft a kind of socialist resistance to capitalist Britain, and the unity of Germans as one collective; breaking down class barriers; and exalting the German workers, funding welfare programmes, and labour unions.

It's funny how Marxism started in Manchester by Germans and Nazism started in London by Englishmen.
                      https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Volksgemeinschaft

So yeah, Nazism is Socialism; but not Facism, which is opposed to trade unionism; but both are forms of Statism.

When people pejoratively call people fascist, they should be invoking this notion of fascism being totalitarian - that everyone within a state should hold the same views (that, and they're using it as a cryptonym for evil or hateful).

The modern so-called "left-liberal" cult, that is pervasive in the west, with hints of leadership cults surrounding figures like Obama, or "presidential" leaderships like Blair, or attempts to replicate that like "Momentum" and "Macron", and the way laws and public discourse are changed to subvert free speech and coerce the public to hold the same views (by threatening their jobs, social life, or liberty), you see a legitimate streak of fascism.

Politics by digital mob (be it twitter or facebook) is extemely dangerous.
The one thing to envy America for is it's enshrined protection of free speech, which the rest of the world deserves.

FFS. So much gibberish and still nothing for the trumpanzees.
Does having a national health service define a country as socialist ? An unemployment welfare assistance program?
                            'free' Public education?
                            Corporate bailouts?
What are the markers that would define a socialist system? That would Trigger a trumpanzee?
