Having some gold is good, but gold has it's problems too.
Difficult to carry and store safely.
I got several Krugerrands, and gave them to my daughter to keep, cuz I was afraid to carry them through the airport security. Those mofo's will sieze any quantity of gold you might be carrying
I got zinged a little by the TenX token. The head guy turned out to be a crook.
Bitcoin will be extremely volatile until the market cap gets into the trillion range. Which will likely happen sooner than later, given the massive fraud and debt of phony USD/Euro fiat currencies.
The debt bubble of 250++ trillion is gonna burst in a spectacular way...

Problem with Krugerrands is they are far too beautiful to seĺl.
And they aren't divisible.

He also used many the worst wallet out there.
Also he lost Ehterium not Bitcoin.
He made many mistakes, which resulted in the theft..
As for investing or speculating, I had absolutely no intention of doing so.
He means greed, not curiosity. Some people naturally feeled entitled to something for nothing, and others don't. Such types steal, gamble, and take high risks to feed their selfish desires.
Oh, and they're also the type to get scammed with the promise of a million dollar inheritance from someone that died in Zimbabwe with the same surname once a thousand dollar transaction fee has been paid
