Obviously if you intend to someone harm broad daylight in his garden in front of his family would suggest theta the attacker is less than playing with a full deck. As an aside, I thought faring could not own property and businesses in Thailand?.

Sucker punched a sleeping man in front of his kids and used a knuckle duster, what a fukking twat. No balls whatsoever.

Is it actually possible not to point fingers, or is it a requirement by law?

Dodgy place that Island, just like Koh Chang. Full of nutters regardless of origin.

Not good for the kids though, is it?

Not to make light of the incident but is there anyplace safe from senseless violence in Thailand?

True, but having lived on Kho Chang I personally experienced stronger animosity to westerns on the Island that weren't tourists. A gun pointed at my head brought that decision on. I feel safer in BKK for some odd reason!

Not that I question your reasons for leaving. I would have to. But care to elaborate as to what brought about this turn of events?

He needs an electric security fence. Then the guy would still be outside his property or his tampering would have set off the alarm.

If you mean to do someone harm, go to the trouble of climbing over or through barbed wire, only to punch someone in the face a couple of times?

^ Not only that but he can't have even hit him all that hard. If someone gets hit hard by someone wearing a knuckle duster, I would have thought his cheek bones would have been smashed to bits. Could have been a lot worse me thinks.

If you want to annoy someone, scare the family and not do too much serious harm, seems this did the trick.

Foreigners can own houses just not the land they are on, ( beware the landlord who dies, you lose all rights to your 30 year lease ) and 49 % of a business, but act essentially as an owner with convoluted voting share set ups which is illegal as hell but done routinely.

Americans can own 100% of a company though through a Thai-USA Amity Treaty registered Thai company.

The latter requires reams of paperwork that my US neighbor has to fill in every year to renew his visa. Way more paperwork than I need!

I've never had any extra paper work just have to take the initial registration. Of course the entire renew permission to stay with a business requires about an 1-4 binder of paper. What do they do with it all, I wonder?

... long term British ex-pat Nolan Pickering was having a nap in his garden in Koh Samui when another British man jumped out from behind his bushes and attacked him.
                            Brittles are such curious creatures.
