Here is what I find quite funny, Westerners see all these pretty knock out women thinking they can just walk up to them and they will be memorized and intrigued and want to connect. The reality is that likely 80% can't speak enough English to even communicate with a westerner and the westerner that can speak fluent Thai is really any better off as they just are not interested. I think far to many spend time on dating sites or in bars so their POV about life here is probably tainted a bit.Comment

Heh...the expat tossers I really appreciate are those who have been in-country for a few years and believe they have a handle on the women/culture & need to tell other expats where they're f*cking up.

I received a call from a friend and teacher 4 days ago and I could barely make out what he was saying. "Hospital, can't breath, lung collapsed!" Is all I could get. He's in his early 30s, very fit and a health-conscious bloke. Turns out, while doing yoga, his lung collapsed.
To cut a long story short, after the initial operation, all seemed well and the doc was waiting for the air to clear from his lungs before giving him the all clear to go home. He was expecting 4 days max. Turns out it is now more serious and it requires an operation, but unfortunately, his insurance will not cover the cost of an estimated 200K which I was informed about today by another friend. So casually, I asked his work colleague if the teachers at his school could forfeit their beer and whore money for a month, which he laughed about and said not a chance. Turns out there was another needy friend with a wife requiring chemo which between them, raised 400bht! Wtf is wrong with these people? His reason was that the person requiring treatment does not get along with some of the group. Of course, there are cliques in any working environment, but are these twats really that callous and lack empathy!
I called to see him today and obviously, he's in a state. I've offered to cover his costs as the school he's served for 7 years plus, has done nothing other than make a call to find a different hospital.
These colleagues of his are probably among the many that vertue signal but have no real morals or care for anyone other than themselves.
