The net is full of them, and banter-filled anonymous forums are the perfect to have a giggle with them. Why do some find them so disturbing? Are they so devoid of a social life that they rely on forum usernames being real people they can get to know (or stalk)?

Some people seem traumatized by such things. It's like they're utterly obsessed with who is a member of a forum they've heavily invested their emotions in decade after decade. They even go as far as to track who members are, and find out then stalk their real world identity.
